E’ di questi ultimi giorni la notizia che il Presidente della Regione, Nello Musumeci, ha visitato alcuni comuni dell’agrigentino, evitando accuratamente di passare per Sciacca.
Non è una novità che per Nello Musumeci il territorio di Sciacca conti quanto un due di picche a briscola, ne ha dato dimostrazione e testimonianza in più occasioni.
Questa volta però vorrei tentare una riflessione su quanto tale atteggiamento assuma i connotati di una condotta politica e amministrativa che definirei con l’aggettivo “becera”.
Si può affermare, senza alcuna possibilità di smentita, che da quando Nello Musumeci ha assunto la guida della Regione siciliana (che, ricordiamolo sempre, è regione a statuto speciale) nulla di realmente utile ed efficace sia stato fatto per sciogliere quei nodi problematici che avevano determinato la chiusura pressoché totale del termalismo siciliano, ovvero di quello che in altre mani sarebbe il settore di maggiore potenzialità che la Sicilia possiede per il proprio sviluppo e per un moderno rilancio della sua impresa economica ed occupazionale più importante, il turismo.
Quando si parla di turismo termale, in Sicilia si faceva riferimento fino ad alcuni anni addietro a due città, Sciacca e Acireale, pur essendo entrambe ancora legate ad un modello di termalismo di vecchio tipo, tutto da rinnovare.
Entrambe sono state, invece, abbandonate al loro destino dalla Regione siciliana, nonostante madre natura abbia fatto loro dono di due imponenti bacini idrotermali (quello di Sciacca è poi ritenuto il più grande d’Europa).
Immagino già l’obiezione di tanti fedelissimi estimatori di Musumeci: questi complessi termali non sono stati chiusi dall’attuale presidente, ma da chi l’ha preceduto.
Verissimo, ma la giunta Musumeci non ha fatto nulla di serio in proposito dal suo insediamento, e poi in questa mia riflessione rappresenta il perfetto emblema di un’intera classe politica regionale che tante, troppe volte irride la gente e se ne fotte di interi territori, come in questo caso quelli di Sciacca ed Acireale.
Perché lo fa?
Forse perché è così modesta da ritenere il problema troppo difficile da potere risolverlo; forse perché pensa che non paghi elettoralmente; oppure perché il cosiddetto sistema non è riuscito ad inventarsi una possibile soluzione che permetta la più opportuna capitalizzazione in termini sia personali che di mangia mangia politico; oppure ancora perché questi territori non hanno una rappresentanza politica di peso nello scacchiere palermitano di chi conta di più.
Qualunque sia il perché, i due complessi termali di Sciacca e Acireale sono ancora lì, con le porte sprangate, con gli impianti ormai deteriorati, con gli interni che stanno andando in sfacelo.
Una vera e propria rapina di bene comune ai danni di un’ intera comunità.
E tutto ciò continua ad avvenire (anzi, a non avvenire…) forse senza neanche renderci conto che sotto i piedi abbiamo ancora un vero e proprio tesoro, senza renderci conto di quello che stanno facendo tutte le regioni del nord Italia per rilanciare il turismo termale del benessere come fonte di ricchezza, senza renderci conto che ormai quasi tutti i nostri figli migliori stanno prendendo la strada dell’emigrazione per mancanza di lavoro quando invece qui da noi di lavoro potrebbe essercene a iosa.
E tutto ciò avviene nel frastuono assordante di un silenzio colpevole e complice della società civile e della politica rappresentativa dei singoli territori.
Sembra il sogno di un visionario quello di poter immaginare una forte e coesa volontà ed azione da parte dei sindaci del territorio di Sciacca e di Acireale, che si mettano insieme per provare a gridare forte e a far capire che così non si può continuare, che un decollo economico di questo territorio o di quel territorio può solo avvenire con la trasformazione di Sciacca e Acireale in centri turistici-termali di primaria grandezza: i sindaci di oggi, quelli di ieri e magari anche quelli di domani continuano a rinchiudersi nei propri uffici dei palazzi di città e a lavorare sulle piccole cose, di emergenze in emergenza: per pensare in grande non c’è mai tempo.
Ma ritorniamo a Nello Musumeci. Raccontano che sia ancora adirato e risentito per il cosiddetto sgarbo istituzionale compiuto dalla sindaca di Sciacca con la marcia su Palermo. Forse qui il buon Nello ha una parte di ragione ce l’ha: ma come si è permessa questa professoressa prestata alla politica a fare una marcia di protesta, quando invece non l’ha mai pensata e fatta chi ne avrebbe avuto il motivo è il più sacrosanto diritto? Ovvero quelle quarantamila persone circa che sono il popolo, la cittadinanza di Sciacca: che se ritrovassimo solo un minimo di dignità e di coscienza civica, ci avremmo pensato noi, tutti insieme, a marciare su Palermo per pretendere conto e ragione di esser stati tagliati fuori da ogni possibilità di riscatto economico e sociale.
Detto questo, è anche vero che il presidente, e quella politica che lui così efficacemente rappresenta, continua a dimenticare che gli è stato chiesto più volte di venire a Sciacca per confrontarsi sugli aspetti controversi della tematica termale, una prima volta con una delibera unanime dell’intero consiglio comunale e di tutte le forze sociali della città, una seconda volta da un manifesto-appello sottoscritto da tutti i sindaci del territorio su iniziativa del Comitato Civico Patrimonio Termale.
Ma a questo confronto pubblico il presidente Musumeci si è sempre sottratto e negato, evidentemente da autentico democratico qual’è.
Nei prossimi anni le risorse economiche europee affluiranno a go go per rilanciare economicamente il nostro paese e il sud Italia in particolare.
Ma per il termalismo siciliano non arriverà un solo euro, perché questa classe politica siciliana che alle prossime elezioni andremo a gratificare con i nostri voti non è stata capace di preparare un solo progetto esecutivo e di comprendere ciò che anche un bambino comprenderebbe: abbiamo sotto i nostri piedi un tesoro che in tutte le altre parti del mondo avrebbero trasformato in oro e in lavoro, noi invece in Sicilia ci divertiamo a chiuderlo e farlo marcire come se gli antichi Greci e Romani non ci avessero già indicato la strada da seguire.
E nessuno di noi si senta escluso da questo ragionamento.
Caro Presidente, sappiamo che ci sei rimasto male per quello striscione in cui ti si accusava di aver tradito il territorio di Sciacca: forse avevi ragione, sarebbe stato più corretto scriverci che hai tradito l’intero territorio regionale.
