Con un’iniziativa tra l’inatteso e il sorprendente Ignazio Messina, nella sua qualità di Presidente del Consiglio Comunale di Sciacca, ha dichiarato guerra al preannunciato parco eolico marittimo, per il quale è stata rilasciata concessa demaniale della durata di anni trenta alla società AVENHEXICON Srl di Milano con riferimento alla porzione di mare di 346 Kmq antistanti il litorale di Agrigento, funzionali alla realizzazione di un parco eolico offshore di tipo floating denominato Sicily Fouth.
Il presidente del Consiglio Comunale di Sciacca ha indirizzato una nota alla Capitaneria di Porto di Porto Empedocle nella quale dichiara che l’impianto da realizzare a mare con questa concessione rappresenta un’opera che potrebbe arrecare danno e pregiudizio diretto alle attività economiche della pesca e del turismo, che sono vitali per il territorio che su questo vasto tratto di mare si affaccia.
Per tutelare la città di Sciacca, che è un primario porto peschereccio e polo turistico, Ignazio Messina ritiene di avere un interesse diretto, per la carica ricoperta, ad esercitare il diritto di accesso agli atti del procedimento, che con la missiva stessa viene esercitato, al fine di poter esaminare nel merito e nella firma la regolarità del procedimento stesso.
È evidente come l’assunzione di tale iniziativa in prima persona da parte di Messina riapra di fatto lo scenario del dualismo politico-amministrativo tra lo stesso Messina e il sindaco Fabio Termine, tanto più che c’è in itinere l’esito del ricorso presentato al TAR contro l’elezione di Termine da parte dello stesso Ignazio Messina, che evidentemente non rinuncia a mantenere un profilo politico di rilievo.
