Una delle più divertenti attività del ricchissimo programma dell’estate sulla spiaggia della Foggia è stata quella la Gara dei Castelli di Sabbia, una bella iniziativa del prof. Franco Volpe coadiuvato dal Comitato di quartiere.
Vi hanno partecipato numerosi villeggianti e bagnanti che si erano precedentemente iscritti, suddivisi in un squadre. Una giuria ha giudicato i lavori, realizzati con fantasia e maestria, che così come sono stati rapidamente costruiti altrettanto rapidamente sono stati poi portati via dal mare nel corso della nottata. Noi li abbiamo immortalati in alcune foto.
È molto bello che questa estate, qui alla Foggia, sia stata realizzata con questo grande impegno tutto un tourbillion di iniziative che a partire dalla Plastic Beach hanno coinvolto le famiglie con letture serali per i bimbi sulla spiaggia, giochi sportivi e di ogni altro genere, attività educative legate al mare, corse dei sacchi la Plastic Beach , tutti segnali di una città di Sciacca che mostra di voler finalmente crescere ed essere sempre più un luogo dove viver bene. Poi, si sa, l’imbecille incivile che lascia il sacchetto della spazzatura per strada c’è sempre, e forse nella nostra città ce n’è ancora qualcuno di troppo, ma non disperiamo, credo che ci stiamo avviando verso una crescita civile sempre più consapevole e la nuova Amministrazione Comunale dovrà accompagnare questo percorso di sensibilità e maturità civica.
