Tempo di congedi, in tutte le scuole. Tempo di saggi, di recite di fine anno scolastico. Tempo di lacrime e commozione, tempo di abbracci. Assistendo, in questi giorni, come tanti nonni, alle manifestazioni che hanno come protagonisti i nostri nipoti, ho toccato con mano quanto la scuola di oggi sia qualcosa di meraviglioso. E la cosa , detta da me, che ho una esperienza trentennale nell’insegnamento, penso sia una testimonianza attendibile. Ma oggi guardo con altri occhi, quelli del cuore. E vedo bambini entusiasti, sensibili, attenti, e vedo maestre eccezionali, empatiche, professionali, competenti, instancabili, piene di energia , umanità, risorse inesauribili.
Senza dovere ricorrere alla retorica, il lavoro di queste super donne (ci sono anche degli uomini, ma sono in minoranza) viene gratificato non dai ringraziamenti di rito dei genitori e dei parenti dei bambini, ma dagli abbracci sinceri e dagli occhi lucidi di questi bambini, che devono lasciare le persone con cui hanno condiviso cultura, giochi, esperienze didattiche e di vita per cinque anni. Da una parte all’altra c’è la voglia di non lasciarsi, di continuare insieme la strada percorsa fin qui. Ma non si può fare. Nuovi incontri aspettano alunni e maestre. E’ la vita che anche nella scuola va avanti, senza soste. Ma la maestra delle scuole elementari ( così continuo a chiamarle io), rimarrà sempre nel cuore di questi meravigliosi cittadini di domani.
