Sviluppare le economie locali, creare opportunità di lavoro per i giovani, tutelare l’ambiente.
Queste sono solo alcune delle sfide mondiali più delicate e urgenti dei nostri tempi che necessitano un contributo universale per essere affrontate.
Il Rotary fa la sua parte da oltre un secolo, continuando a supportare progetti comunitari, di crescita e di pace.
C’è un Club in Sicilia, a Sciacca, che ha deciso di sposare un progetto in cui territorio, giovani e sostenibilità vanno a braccetto.
E così parte oggi, 18 settembre 2023 – con spot su RMK e sulle pagine social del Rotary Club Sciacca – una campagna di sensibilizzazione sociale e valorizzazione territoriale nata dalla penna di Flavia Alì e dall’immaginazione di Federica Grisafi, due giovani saccensi di 23 e 26 anni, che hanno pensato a un modo per riflettere, tutti insieme, sul valore e sul rispetto dei territori e delle persone che li abitano.
Ecco che entra in gioco Frida, protagonista delle illustrazioni di Federica e suo alter ego, che passeggia per le strade di Sciacca, sosta davanti a punti di interesse e monumenti e incontra i grandi dell’arte, della poesia e della storia della Città.
Durante le sue passeggiate, Frida si rende conto che la luce emanata dalla bellezza dei luoghi rischia di essere offuscata da comportamenti poco in linea con il rispetto degli spazi comuni, del patrimonio culturale e della sostenibilità ambientale.
Si interroga, allora, sulle sue azioni, estendendo a chi segue le sue avventure l’invito a riflettere – da qui il titolo pensato per la campagna: “E tu?” – e prova a suscitare la consapevolezza che i piccoli gesti di civiltà a cui tutti siamo chiamati, per il nostro benessere e quello degli altri, debbano essere la normalità e non l’eccezione. Frida ci ricorda che ciascuno è responsabile del decoro e/o della sua mancanza nel posto in cui si vive; che non si può pretendere dall’altro ciò che non si è disposti a fare per primi. Insomma, non un giudice severo, ma uno sguardo dall’esterno su sé stessi prima che sugli altri.
Il Rotary di Sciacca ha colto con entusiasmo la possibilità di supportare questa idea, che peraltro si armonizza perfettamente con il tema proposto da tutti i Distretti Rotary d’Italia – giovani, ambiente e lavoro – per celebrare, in maniera unitaria, il centesimo anniversario della presenza del Rotary International in Italia. Correva, infatti, l’anno 1923 quando a Milano fu costituito il primo Club cui seguì, già nell’anno successivo, la costituzione del primo Club di Sicilia, a Palermo.
I Rotariani di Sciacca, dunque, aderiscono alle celebrazioni attraverso le giovanissime Federica e Flavia, coinvolgendo nel progetto gli amici dell’area Akragas e lasciando che Frida scopra i territori della provincia e li mostri con occhio diverso alla collettività.
