Giuseppe Caruana, presidente provinciale e della circoscrizione di Sciacca della CONFCOMMERCIO, ha inviato ai tre candidati a sindaco una lettera-aperta che pubblichiamo integralmente anche in considerazione dell’importanza economica e produttiva della categoria rappresentata:
“Amici Candidati a Sindaco,
non vi consegneremo nessun documento programmatico e non vi chiederemo nessun incontro. Lo faremo alla prima occasione utile post voto. Abbiamo letto i vostri programmi (e già questo sarebbe sufficiente per capire alcuni indirizzi politico- programmatici) ascoltato le vostre interviste, i vostri dibattiti, molti di noi sono stati impegnati in incontri con voi e con i candidati al consiglio comunale e seppur con le limitazioni di una campagna elettorale, al momento ci pare utile più ascoltare senza necessariamente legare il momento di confronto alla singola tematica del commercio, che per la sua complessità non può essere affrontata in un tempo limitato e nel suo ragionamento complessivo. Tanto per essere chiari riteniamo che il Commercio come il Turismo, l’Agricoltura e la Pesca, non siano argomenti a compartimenti stagni, ma diventano ancor più oggi di ieri, comparti complementari tra loro da ogni angolazione si guardino”.
“Dirò di più, in questa fase le parole, i concetti, le idee anzi i buoni propositi sono spesso slogan che difficilmente per come sono sviluppati in questi contesti elettorali, sia per il tempo a disposizione, sia per esigenze di arrivare all’elettorato senza “stancarlo”, possono essere realmente presi in analisi per approfondimenti o valutazioni serie.
Vi forniamo solo alcuni numeri su cui riflettere e magari cominciare a ragionare in prospettiva: su un totale di 35.000 imprese attive in provincia di Agrigento, Sciacca rappresenta con 3140 imprese attive per un totale di 6958 addetti il 9% delle imprese in provincia e l’8,8% degli addetti ai lavori. Solo per avere un metro di paragone Agrigento città si attesta al 13% mentre Favara, Licata, Canicattì sono alla nostra media o giù di lì”.
“ I settori più rappresentativi in termini di numeri occupazionali sono (settore e addetti): Edilizia 768 Agricoltura 852 Pesca 488 Servizi alla persona 162 Ricettività extra alberghiera 98 Ristorazione 692 Commercio 1735, fonte Unioncamere Sicilia anno 2021. I settori qui rappresentati in termini assoluti rappresentano il 70% della forza lavoro complessiva.
Confcommercio è la casa delle imprese è la casa del popolo del fare ed abbiamo bisogno di un costante e continuo confronto con chi ha la responsabilità del governo della città.
Responsabilità nelle scelte che riguardano il nostro futuro e quello delle nuove generazioni, ma per noi il valore è doppio perchè oltre che come semplici e liberi cittadini dobbiamo valutare e scegliere anche per il futuro delle proprie imprese.
In questa terra affamata di sviluppo la cosa che chiediamo è di metterci in condizione di aiutare a sviluppare e mettiamo a disposizione la nostra formazione sul campo per fornire nuove idee e sviluppare nuove imprese, siamo forse gli unici a non chiedere qualcosa ma ad offrire qualcosa. Ascolto e condivisione è ciò che chiediamo, offrendo il nostro quotidiano lavoro, il nostro costante investimento nelle nostre attività che significa investire nella propria città, cercando di renderla migliore nella sua vivibilità, ma vorremmo operare in condizioni “normali”, vorremmo una città che offra servizi adeguati e non degrado, vorremmo dialogo e compartecipazione nelle scelte, sensibilità e rispetto verso un comparto vitale e necessario per qualsiasi idea di sviluppo ognuno di voi ha già messo in cantiere.
Vorremmo che in ognuno di voi vi possa essere la consapevolezza di quanto è di fondamentale importanza il nostro comparto per qualunque indirizzo politico amministrativo vogliate dare alla vostra azione di governo cittadina.
Non è ammissibile che nel recente passato abbiamo addirittura dovuto superare atteggiamenti pregiudizievoli nei confronti delle imprese, come se creare reddito, sviluppo e lavoro per se e per i propri dipendenti fosse insignificante e poco utile per la città, o come spesso è accaduto individuati più come ostacoli da superare, quest’ultima una visione del nostro comparto che si sposa perfettamente in coloro che sono abituati ad avere il reddito (stipendio) che comunque da qualche parte arriva, magari grazie alla politica clientelare nell’accezione più negativa che questa parola possa esprimere. La politica è servizio, la politica deve essere al servizio di cittadini e imprese, soprattutto di coloro che antepongono i loro doveri a qualsiasi diritto seppur legittimo e spesso disatteso dalla Pubblica Amministrazione.
Noi siamo abituati a creare reddito, attraverso le nostre mani, la nostra fatica, il nostro sudore, il nostro imprendere anche con investimenti economici e finanziari non indifferenti ed anche attraverso il nostro cuore, perchè aldilà degli slogan elettorali del momento, chi resiste a fare impresa qui in fondo in fondo lo fa anche perchè ama questa città. Quello che chiediamo ad ognuno di voi qualunque ruolo o risultato raggiungiate, all’indomani di queste elezioni, metteteci lo stesso nostro impegno, la nostra stessa passione giornaliera, metteteci il cuore per questa città”
